MEET KENDRA
SOUCIE-SMITH
LIFELONG NASHUA RESIDENT
PROUD NASHUA SCHOOL GRADUATE
PARENT OF FOUR NASHUA STUDENTS
I’m Kendra Soucie Smith, and I’m running for the Nashua Board of Education because I believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed, no matter their circumstances.
For 34 years, I’ve been part of Nashua’s schools. I’ve worked in food service at Ledge Street, Fairgrounds Elementary, and Nashua High School South, serving our students every day and watching firsthand what helps them thrive, and what holds them back.
As a parent, I’ve navigated the challenges of special education and IEP services, and I know how overwhelming that system can feel for families. I’ve also seen how food insecurity directly impacts learning. A child who is hungry can’t be expected to focus on academics, and it’s our responsibility to ensure every student has what they need to succeed.
My time in our schools and community has taught me that stronger partnerships between schools and families are essential. When parents, teachers, and staff work together, our students benefit the most.
My Commitment
If elected, I’ll bring both professional and personal experience to the Board of Education.
I’ll work to:
Expand access to supports and resources for students of all needs
Strengthen programs that tackle hunger and food insecurity
Build better communication between schools and families
Ensure equity so every child, in every part of Nashua, can thrive
This isn’t just about policy—it’s about people. I’ve lived these challenges alongside our community, and I’m committed to finding solutions that work for all Nashua families.
